Because the rope is made by twisting many wire into screw shapes, it has the property (rotational property) of trying to rotate in the unlacing direction when the load is inflicted on the rope.
The rope which is made to have less of such rotational property is called non rotating rope. |

| The multilayer rope means the one that minimizes the rotational property of rope by having the twisting direction opposite by each layer as the strands are made by being twisted as 2 or 3 layers. |
